Celestial Latitude: The Last Step in Planetary Gender

Published on: 17th February, 2026

The discourse delves into the intricate processes involved in discerning the gender of astrological signs and planets, a foundational aspect of astrological interpretation. The initial focus is on identifying the gender associated with both the sign and the planet, a task that is essential for further astrological analysis. The conversation progresses to the concept of solar phase, which serves as a pivotal point in understanding the nuanced characteristics of celestial entities. Following this, the discussion introduces the notion of quadrants, which adds another layer of complexity to the analysis of a planet's gender. The speaker emphasizes that a comprehensive understanding of these elements is crucial, as they collectively inform the astrological interpretation of an individual's birth chart. Moreover, the intricate calculations required to determine a planet's celestial latitude, which indicates its position relative to the ecliptic, are underscored. Planets situated north of the ecliptic are deemed more masculine, while those to the south are categorized as feminine. This celestial latitude is integral in understanding how planets express their inherent characteristics and how they interact with other factors in the birth chart, impacting an individual's experiences and emotional expressions. The interplay between a planet’s gender and its conditions is further elaborated, noting that masculine planets in predominantly feminine settings may result in feelings of frustration or stagnation, whereas feminine planets in masculine conditions could evoke a sense of pressure or fear. This fundamental exploration of celestial gender and its implications provides listeners with a profound understanding of astrological dynamics and their relevance in personal introspection and growth.

Speaker A:

So the first step is determining the sign gender of the sign, the planets gender, the sign of the gender.

Speaker A:

The next step would be solar phase.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

And then the next step would be a quadrant.

Speaker A:

And then there's one more step in finding out how masculine or how feminine a planet is.

Speaker A:

You probably need a computer to do this.

Speaker A:

But the last layer in determining the gender of a planet is the planet's celestial latitude.

Speaker A:

Like I said, you'll need a computer probably to figure this out.

Speaker A:

But celestial latitude is the distance of a planet north or south of the ecliptic.

Speaker A:

Planets north of the ecliptic are more masculine, while planets south of the ecliptical male, feminine.

Speaker A:

So yeah.

Speaker A:

So you, on a computer, if you could, on your birth chart, if you could, you would have to find out on a, print out the latitude and look at the latitude of the planet.

Speaker A:

If it's a, on a northern, which would be plus, it'll be.

Speaker A:

Plus would be northern, negative would be southern.

Speaker A:

Northern is masculine, southern is feminine.

Speaker A:

So you could have, you could have a masculine planet with an ex in extreme feminine conditions.

Speaker A:

Feminine, feminine latitude, feminine quadrant, feminine sign, you know.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

And the gender of a planet influences this expression of the planet.

Speaker A:

It's one of the, it's one of many factors that helps determine the planet's ability to do the things that it's most naturally wants to do.

Speaker A:

Masculine planets in extreme feminine conditions can lead to frustrations and boredom.

Speaker A:

A feeling of wanting to move forward, but you're carrying too much weight.

Speaker A:

Feminine planets in extreme masculine conditions could lead to feeling pressured.

Speaker A:

It could be a source of tension or even an area of fear.

Speaker A:

Emotionally, emotionally fearful of expressing yourself like that.

Speaker A:

The moon, like a moon in a masculine sign, could be expressed as emotionally fearful to express yourself.

Speaker A:

Yeah, like me.

Speaker A:

There you go.

PAUL HEATH

I am Paul. When I reflect back on my life, I was always interested in astrology. I would read my daily horoscope in the newspaper every day and often wonder, “how do they know?”
One day I was told I am a “cusp of beauty”, because my birthday was the last day of Virgo. I went home to research what cusp of beauty meant. My curiosity soared when finding out the meaning. I didn’t realize that I had just begun the journey of “Know Thyself.”
Learning how to read my natal chart I acquired the skills to assist others with deciphering their own chart-energy. Astrology has helped me understand and accept me for who I am. Although still work in progress, knowing about myself is surely making the process easier. I enjoy helping others (Virgo Sun) with the information I have gathered (Gemini Rising) that will help transform lives (Scorpio Moon) in a positive way.
I look forward to meeting and working with you as we embark on your journey.
