Why Astrology Was the Only Thing That Made Sense

Published on: 13th February, 2026

Astrology serves as a profound lens through which we can explore the intricacies of human relationships and personal identity. As I reflect on my early fascination with this ancient practice, I am reminded of how, even at the tender age of ten, I was captivated by the celestial connections that seemed to dictate compatibility and personality traits among individuals. My innate ability to identify astrological signs and their corresponding attributes was not merely a passing fancy, but rather a significant aspect of my early intellectual development. Such an obsession burgeoned over the years, culminating in a professional pursuit that began approximately five years ago, marking a transition from casual interest to a serious commitment to astrological study and practice. In this discourse, I delve deeply into the origins of my astrological journey, wherein I recount a childhood characterized by an eclectic blend of spiritual influences. Growing up in the diverse cultural milieu of Queens, I was exposed to a myriad of belief systems, ranging from Islam to Christianity, yet I found myself unconfined by any singular doctrine. This multiplicity of perspectives afforded me a unique vantage point from which to appreciate the interconnectivity of all spiritual practices, ultimately steering my interest towards astrology, which resonated with my intrinsic need for understanding and connection. The allure of astrology lies not only in its explanatory power but also in its capacity to forge connections among disparate elements of life, reflecting a deeper truth about the human experience. As I navigate the intersection of astrology with my personal narrative, I emphasize the significance of embracing a multifaceted approach to spirituality. My early encounters with crystals and stones, along with my interest in Wicca and nature-based paganism, further enriched my understanding of the world. These experiences illustrate a quest for meaning amid the chaos of an unstable childhood, where astrology provided a coherent framework for interpreting the complexities of existence. It is this very depth and richness of astrological insight that I seek to share with others, inviting them to explore the profound ways in which cosmic patterns can illuminate their own lives and relationships.

Speaker A:

One, I've always loved astrology.

Speaker A:

Growing up, I could literally tell you exactly what sign you would match with, and so forth and so on and so forth.

Speaker A:

When I was probably like 10 years old, that's how obsessed with it I was.

Speaker A:

I just knew what signs melded together.

Speaker A:

You tell me a birthday, I could say, oh, you're a Leo.

Speaker A:

Oh, you're a cancer.

Speaker A:

So that's always been with me.

Speaker A:

But I would say five years ago is when I really, really study.

Speaker A:

Started studying professionally and doing reading professionally.

Speaker B:

Well, how did you get in?

Speaker B:

How did you get into it at that young of an age?

Speaker B:

Was your family into it at all?

Speaker A:

No, weirdly enough, no, I. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.

Speaker B:

Before you answer that, what.

Speaker B:

What spirituality was practiced in your household growing up?

Speaker A:

So it really wasn't a big staple in my household.

Speaker A:

I think my family came from two different faiths.

Speaker A:

My father followed Islam and my mother was Christian, and I never really followed any one religion.

Speaker A:

I grew up in Queens, so I've had Jewish friends, I've had Muslim friends, I've had Christian friends.

Speaker A:

I had such a diverse group of friends that I've been to church, I've been to temple, I've been to different places of worship.

Speaker A:

And at a young age, I never found that there had to be one religion for me.

Speaker A:

I just found that so many religions interested me and there was just something about astrology and something about how deep it was and how everything kind of connected is interconnected with each other.

Speaker A:

So that's something that really drew my interest as a kid.

Speaker A:

And crystals and stones, I just.

Speaker A:

I don't know, they just.

Speaker A:

They would.

Speaker A:

I would just be automatically attracted to them and then collect them and.

Speaker A:

And.

Speaker A:

I don't know, as I got older, I started to kind of make sense and.

Speaker A:

And I found myself as I.

Speaker A:

As I've gotten older.

Speaker B:

Well, you actually kind of jumping into my next question I was going to ask you.

Speaker B:

Is astrology the first thing you gravitated to?

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker A:

Yes, it was.

Speaker A:

I even really.

Speaker A:

I really liked Wicca, too, when I was younger.

Speaker A:

Like paganism when I was younger.

Speaker A:

I always thought that was very interesting because everything followed nature, everything around you was important, and everything around me growing up was.

Speaker B:

I don't know.

Speaker A:

I just.

Speaker A:

I had a. I had a pretty.

Speaker A:

I would say, unstable childhood.

Speaker A:

So it was really hard for me to, I guess, gravitate towards one religion.

Speaker A:

What's right, what's wrong?

Speaker A:

I kind of had to learn that on my own.

Speaker A:

So when I did learn it on my own, I found that astrology made the most sense to me, and I could really connect the pieces together with it.

PAUL HEATH

I am Paul. When I reflect back on my life, I was always interested in astrology. I would read my daily horoscope in the newspaper every day and often wonder, “how do they know?”
One day I was told I am a “cusp of beauty”, because my birthday was the last day of Virgo. I went home to research what cusp of beauty meant. My curiosity soared when finding out the meaning. I didn’t realize that I had just begun the journey of “Know Thyself.”
Learning how to read my natal chart I acquired the skills to assist others with deciphering their own chart-energy. Astrology has helped me understand and accept me for who I am. Although still work in progress, knowing about myself is surely making the process easier. I enjoy helping others (Virgo Sun) with the information I have gathered (Gemini Rising) that will help transform lives (Scorpio Moon) in a positive way.
I look forward to meeting and working with you as we embark on your journey.
