Understanding the Mutable vs. Fixed Signs in Astrology
A fascinating exchange unfolded during a recent ride to the airport, where I encountered two women who were visiting to celebrate the birthday of a young man they had once mentored. This young man, now thirty years of age, was at a pivotal juncture in his life, often referred to as a 'Saturn return', a concept in astrology that signifies a time of significant transformation and decision-making. As I engaged them in conversation, I posited that at this age, individuals frequently confront existential questions regarding their career paths and aspirations. One of the women confirmed my intuition, revealing the challenges her mentee had faced in the acting profession, yet she expressed their commitment to support him during this critical phase of his life. This interaction not only highlighted the importance of mentorship but also the profound influence of astrological timing on personal growth and decision-making. As our discussion progressed, I identified a distinctive dynamic between the two women, each embodying differing astrological archetypes. The first, a mutable Virgo, was open to the concepts I presented, engaging with curiosity and consideration. In stark contrast, her companion, a fixed Taurus, exhibited a rigidity in her beliefs, particularly when it came to discussions regarding spirituality and astrology. This juxtaposition served as a compelling illustration of how astrological signs can influence not only personality traits but also openness to new ideas and perspectives. The Taurus’s steadfastness in her convictions contrasted sharply with the Virgo’s willingness to explore alternative viewpoints, prompting a deeper reflection on the nature of belief systems. Ultimately, the encounter transcended mere astrological discussion, evolving into a profound dialogue about the essence of belief and life itself. As we neared our destination, I succinctly articulated my beliefs about the nature of existence, which elicited a thoughtful response from the Virgo, while the Taurus remained steadfast in her insistence on the importance of faith in Jesus. This moment underscored the varying degrees of receptiveness to new ideas, exemplified by the Virgo's contemplation and the Taurus's unwavering stance. Such encounters reveal the rich tapestry of human interaction, where differing worldviews can coexist, and the importance of mentorship and support in navigating life’s complexities becomes evident.

The first encounter, I gave two ladies a ride to the airport.
Speaker A:They told me they came in town to see a kid they used to mentor that was in some play and it was his birthday.
Speaker A:I asked his age.
Speaker A:They replied 30.
Speaker A:I said, he's coming out of his Saturn return.
Speaker A:They asked what was I talking about.
Speaker A:I said, it's kind of like a fork in a row.
Speaker A:It's a time to make a decision which way you're gonna go.
Speaker A:I said, this acting stuff, has he been questioning if he still wanted to do it?
Speaker A:One lady said yes, it was really rough for a while, but he decided he was going to stick with it and this is one of the reasons why we came down here to support him.
Speaker A:Then she says, how did you know that?
Speaker A:I reply that I'm an astrologer and there are different times when things get triggered.
Speaker A:One lady yells out, I don't believe in that.
Speaker A:Of course it's because of religious reasons.
Speaker A:The other lady said, oh, how cool.
Speaker A:I asked what their sun signs were.
Speaker A:The one lady asking the question was a mutable changeable Virgo.
Speaker A:The other was a fixed hold position stuck Taurus.
Speaker A:I explained both Virgo and Taurus.
Speaker A:Mind you, they both agreed on the qualities I described, even the non believing Taurus.
Speaker A:Then they started asking me what do I believe?
Speaker A:The Taurus kept talking to me about Jesus.
Speaker A:I told her I went to Catholic school all my life.
Speaker A:I didn't need a lecture on Jesus.
Speaker A:Then I made a few comments about belief systems on the whole.
Speaker A:But the Virgo keeps pressing me on what do I believe?
Speaker A:And as we're nearing the destination, I finally gave them a condensed version of what I believe life is all about.
Speaker A:The changeable Virgo looks at me and says, wow, that's an interesting concept.
Speaker A:The stuck Taurus looks at me after everything I had just said and says, make sure you keep Jesus in your life.
Speaker A:It made me chuckle, but I said okay.
Speaker A:And I kept it moving.
Speaker A:Now what stood out to me, I thought, was the difference between mutable Earth and fixed Earth.
Speaker A:The Virgo at least considered the thought.
Speaker A:The Taurus did not even consider it.
Speaker A:Even after she agreed with the Taurus representation, she was still stuck on her position.
Speaker A:Turns out that's not what that encounter was really about, but I will elaborate on that in a few minutes.
