Mars in Aries 2026: The 3 of Wands — The Ships Are Out

Published on: 18th May, 2026

Mars enters the 3 of Wands on April 22nd and the launch window is over — the ships are out and the weather turns. This is Room Two of the 40-day Mars in Aries transit, covering April 22 through May 5. Five exact events define this room: Sun square Pluto on April 25th exposing what power is operating beneath the surface, Mercury square Jupiter on April 26th sending the mind into the nourishment question four days before Mars has to live it, the Scorpio Full Moon on April 30th bringing emotional reckoning at full light in Mars' own night domicile, and Mars square Jupiter exalted in Cancer April 30th through May 4th — the biggest aspect of the entire 40-day transit. Two planets at peak dignity in genuine conflict. Force wants to move. Nourishment wants to hold. The question this room demands you answer: do you expand through force or through nourishment?

Takeaways

  • Mars enters the 3 of Wands on April 22nd — the launch is done, the goods are in transit, and the outcome is no longer entirely in your hands. At this stage the Seeker cannot go it alone.
  • Sun square Pluto on April 25th exposes what power is actually operating beneath the value system you launched from — name it honestly or it names itself publicly.
  • Mercury squares Jupiter on April 26th and the mind hits the nourishment question four days before Mars has to live it — pay attention to what surfaces on the 26th, that is the question Mars will be answering through May 4th.
  • The Scorpio Full Moon on April 30th illuminates Mars' own night domicile at full light in the middle of the biggest aspect of the transit — what you have been too busy producing to feel will surface now.
  • Mars square Jupiter exalted in Cancer April 30th through May 4th is the biggest aspect of the entire 40-day transit — two planets at peak dignity in genuine conflict, productive friction between force and nourishment that cannot be bypassed.
  • Force can launch. Only nourishment can sustain. The 3 of Wands is asking whether what you built has the roots to survive the return.

PAUL HEATH

I am Paul. When I reflect back on my life, I was always interested in astrology. I would read my daily horoscope in the newspaper every day and often wonder, “how do they know?”
One day I was told I am a “cusp of beauty”, because my birthday was the last day of Virgo. I went home to research what cusp of beauty meant. My curiosity soared when finding out the meaning. I didn’t realize that I had just begun the journey of “Know Thyself.”
Learning how to read my natal chart I acquired the skills to assist others with deciphering their own chart-energy. Astrology has helped me understand and accept me for who I am. Although still work in progress, knowing about myself is surely making the process easier. I enjoy helping others (Virgo Sun) with the information I have gathered (Gemini Rising) that will help transform lives (Scorpio Moon) in a positive way.
I look forward to meeting and working with you as we embark on your journey.
